Bumper of My SUV
Seeing this everywhere I turn and being horribly disturbed by it, I couldn't help but share this with everyone after a dear friend of mine shared it with me this morning. One's political beliefs and opinions should truly be irrelevant when considering supporting not just your country but the men and women defending your home and freedoms.

Whether you believe it to be right or wrong, we are there. A lot of our soldiers are physically there, but the rest of us are there with them one way or another. You don't have to agree with our troops being there. You don't have to agree with the reasons that we are there. You don't even have speak aloud that you support the troops, but is it necessary to openly bash them? Disagree with the purpose. Disagree with the "politics" of it all, you have that right. Just remember when doing so that you have the rights and freedoms that you have (such as disagreeing with the war) because of our armed forces.

The soldiers are there because they believe in and love our country. They are willing to fight to the death to keep it free and keep you free.

Truth be told, there is no right or wrong decision in this situation anymore. There really never was and the leadership of our country couldn't have made a "correct" decision any way they went. Hind sight is always 20/20, walk a mile in their shoes, it's easy to judge when you aren't the one being held responsible for anything and so on and so forth.

Bottom line, support the war, don't support the war but always support our troops.

Bumper of my suv by Chely Wright:

I’ve got a bright red sticker on the back of my car
Says United States Marines
And yesterday a lady in a mini-van held up a middle finger at me
Does she think she knows what I stand for
Or the things that I believe
Just by looking at a sticker for the US Marines
On The Bumper Of My SUV
See, my brother Chris, he’s been in for more than 14 years now
Our dad was in the Navy during Vietnam
Did his duty then he got out
And my grandpa earned his purple heart
On the beach of Normandy
That’s why I’ve got a sticker for the US Marines
On The Bumper Of SUV
But that doesn’t mean that I want war
I’m not Republican or Democrat
But I’ve gone all around this crazy world
Just to try and better understand
Yes I do have questions
I get to ask them because I’m free
That’s why I’ve got a sticker for the US Marines
On the Bumper Of My SUV
Cause I’ve been to Hiroshima
And I’ve been to the DMZ
I’ve walked on the sand in Baghdad
Still don’t have all of the answers I need
But I guess I wanna know where she’s been
Before she judges and gestures to me
Cause she don’t like my sticker
For the US Marines
On the bumper of my SUV
So I hope that lady in her mini-van
Turns on her radio and hears this from me
As she picks up her kids from their private school
And drives home safely on our city streets
Or to the building where her church group meets
Yeah, that’s why I’ve got a sticker for the US Marines
On the bumper of my SUV
