New Family Addition
| I really was thinking more along the lines of a beta fish when I told Kolby that I was going to get him a surprise yesterday from the pet store. He just kept running back to this one little female hamster. I tried and tried directing him back to the fish....the beta's in particuliar....and he would go for a minute. But he always came back to this hamster and before I knew it, he had named her Furball...nickname Fergie (I'm just as clueless about that one too...no worries). He had this amazingly cute and sweet face when he looked up at me and told me that he just HAD to have her. I'm a sucker sometimes! So, $60 later, we are leaving the pet store with Fergie. Kolby is carrying her around in her little cardboard box that they put her in at the store and being ever so delicate. He talked and talked to this hamster all the way home telling her how happy he was to have her and how happy she was going to be in her new home. Then, he declared Furball as the smartest hamster ever because she had already learned that his name is Kolby Jacob. Suddenly I heard the panic in his voice though when he said, "Mom, I think we have a problem. Furball is about to get loose." She had chewed a nice big hole in the side of the her temporary home and we weren't even half way home yet! Tehehehe....talk about panic setting in! Fortunately, I had a small box in the car from something else and was able to put her in there! WHEW!!! AND OF COURSE, we have already had our first scare. While Jeff and I were outside, apparently Kolby couldn't resist the temptation of petting his new furry friend. He came outside to let us know that his friend was under his bed and that Zoe couldn't get it out. *sighs* It ended painlessly with Zoe capturing Furball and putting her back in her home. For now, the little thing is living on the kitchen table to help reduce as much of the temptation as possible! Tehehehehe  | View Show | Create Your Own |
