Welcome to our crazy corner of the world! Since we have family that is spread across the country, we decided to set up this blog so that
those that we love and miss would have an even better glimpse into our daily lives.
Sit back and enjoy. Hopefully, you will enjoy the ride as much as we do!
Love, Jeff, Shelly, Zoe & Kolby

Well, we made it home safe and kind of sound anyway. If we were ever really that to begin with!
The event was a HUGE success and we had an incredible time all weekend long!
Well, with the exception of the Saturday Wal-Mart trip that is. I had ordered a portion of the food through them. They insisted (for the first time ever) that the order had to be paid in full before the day of pick up. Nope, I couldn't pay over the phone with a credit card. Nope, I couldn't mail them a check. I actually had to be there in person to pay for $155 worth of food. Luckily, we were already planning on arriving on Friday. It took just short of an hour for the manager at the deli to figure out how to print the labels, for me to wait in line at the register to pay for it and then wait in line AGAIN to show the manager the receipt proving it had been paid for. She clearly marked the order slip as paid in full. So, when I sent Jeff to pick it up for us without the receipt, I really didn't think it would be an issue.
Then came the phone call from Jeff. "Shelly, they are refusing to let me pick up this food without the receipt." The manager of the deli is there stating that she knows it is paid in full, but the door greeter will not let Jeff out without the receipt. This woman was of no use to me, so I got the store assistant manager on the phone. His argument was the exact same thing. The door greeters will not let him out the door without the receipt! I argued with him for a bit and then informed him that he really didn't want ME to come to the store to discuss this. Nor did he want to read the letters that would be sent to every CEO Wal-Mart has. He forcefully informed me that it would not be in my best interest to threaten him. I then firmly noted that I wasn't in anyway threatening him. I was simply explaining to him what the consequence of this sillyness would be. He became quite sheepish with me at that point. And finally he receded, stating that he would "let it slide this time."
Hehehehe, let is slide this time? Yeah, as if they will ever get a next time right?
Now, whether this effected them or not, I have cut them a little slack after hearing that the FBI was in the parking lot shooting and killing a bank robber as they chased him on foot just moments before Jeff arrived at the store.
Anywho, we got home and found the sweetest message drawn out in sidewalk chalk from the kids:
