Lots and Lots of Stuff
Wow, for a weekend off, this has been a SUPER busy one.

Friday night, Jeff and I went out on a date. Kolby found this to be ridiculous. Something about it having to be dark to go on a date and it wasn't dark yet when we left, so we couldn't possibly really be going on a date! Tehehehe. We went out to eat at one of our most favorite places, Texas Roadhouse. Kind of a bizarre meal really. I was eating my ceaser salad when suddenly I bit into something extra cruncy and extra HOT! It immediately came out of my mouth as I frantically looked around for something that would help ease the burning sensation going on in my mouth. Somehow, some sort of jalapeno got into my salad. Then, Jeff was going to town on his ribeye and suddenly started freaking out a bit digging in his mouth. I really wasn't sure if he was choking or what from the panic that consumed his face. Then, he finally dug out a very large, but very slim, piece of bone that had apparently wedged up into his gum while chewing his steak. It is still really hurting him. Poor thing....I was tempted to call it a night at this point and send us both back home! Instead though, we toughed it out to go see The Graduate at one of the local community theaters, The Backdoor Theater. While it wasn't the best performance that I have caught there, the cast really did a bang up job! All in all, Jeff and I had a tremendous night out! We are definitely looking forward to another date night.

As most of you know already, a few days ago, I brought home a new, temporary addition to our family. He seems to be a yellow lab or mix thereof. The kids and I stopped to get gas out by my mother's house, which is unusual as I have a favorite gas station that I use and rarely go elsewhere. So, I am claiming this as fate. Anywho, this poor dog was running around the parking lot of the gas station trying to get any kind of attention he could. Clearly, he has been well neglected and under fed. You can see his rib cage he is so skinny. I went in to the gas station and bought him a small bag of dog food. I then had him follow me over to the side of the station and opened it up so that at least he could get a little food into his tummy. He refused to leave my side though as I started walking back to the car. After trying to get him to stay there and eat a couple of times, I realized that I just couldn't leave him there. So, we loaded him and the food up into the car and brought him home. Hopefully we can get him back to a healthier look and find him a good home.

Benny and Sissy are doing superbly. Although, they are more than curious about the new addition!

Zoe and I went out last week to buy some plants and flowers for the front yard. On the ride home from the nursery, Zoe was accusing Kolby of pooping in his pants because that smell was in the air. She was terribly upset when I explained to her what compost was and here we had 5 LARGE bags of it in the car! The plan was to plant them together, BUT the day that she was READY to do it, I was just too tired. So, she planted them all by herself. Even spreading out the compost by herself. She did a fantastic job!

Yesterday, I spent the majority of the day car shopping. We decided that it was finally time to trade in the "terd"...as we affectionately refer to my car. We haven't signed the final paperwork on this car as we are still considering an '05 Pacifica as well. The Pacifica will cost a couple thousand dollars more than this one, but we both really like it a lot better. It was a lot of fun haggling with the dealers. I just love that kind of stuff and I'm pretty good at it too. I love the look on their face when I show them how their numbers from the finance department don't add up correctly! And yesterday I got a super bonus when I overheard my sales guy at one of the dealerships telling his finance guy, "She's doing the math and it just doesn't add up!" Muwahahahaha. I had 3 dealerships working deals for me all day and calling me while I was sitting with the other dealerships. It was loads of fun! Anywho, here are some pictures of the Chevy HHR that we brought home for the weekend. It's down to either this one or the Pacifica. I'm sooo super excited that this is finally getting taken care of and most importantly, I will finally have a working air conditioner again. That is kind of important in this Texas heat! Tehehehe

The Lightning is coming right along. The paint finally came in the other day, so that really lifted Jeff's spirits about the plane. Although, I was the the one bouncing all over the house from excitement! Hehehe, he found it amusing at least! So, this weekend he has been filling, sanding and priming the plane so that hopefully the first coat of white paint can go on Monday.
