Bad Shelly, Bad
Okay, I have not done such a bang up job the past couple of weeks on keeping this updated. Most would say, "so, big deal!" But I DO understand the annoyance & frustration that is raised each time you visit a blog daily and then suddenly updates stop for days or worse, weeks. Honestly though, not much interesting has been going on around here. Basically, working on the pool, taking care of Sissy, family game nights and sleeping. *laughs* Don't forget to scroll down past this entry though as I have done FOUR...count them, 1....2....3.....4.....entries ***besides this one*** to get everything caught up!

Sissy is doing quite well. She is adapting to be indoors like a duck to water! Tehehehe. I think we are going to have real issues when she finally gets through this 3 month period of recouping and has to go back to being an outdoor dog again. She is much more feminine & princess like now. She's still behind bars though.

Benny went in for a spa day on Wednesday. He was really excited when I attached his leash to his collar and walked him out to the front yard. He wasn't so excited though about getting into the car. I swear there was this intense look of fear in his eyes as I was trying to lift and pull him into the car. I'm certain that if he could have spoken to me, he would have been screaming, "oh, I DON'T think so! I saw what happened to Sissy the last time she got in this car!" Eventually though, I got him into the car and drove away to the new PetSmart location. Benny thought he was in heaven what with all of the cool toys, special treats and all of the other "new" dogs roaming the store with him. He was less than impressed however when the woman in the back took off his collar and put on a new leash for him. He was definitely sensing danger at that point. He cried at me as I walked out the door and I'm pretty sure that he really did think that he was going to be tormented much the same way that Sissy was. To his surprise though, that wasn't the plan at all. Instead, he got his hair cut, a full bath and teeth cleaning. What a lovely day at the spa for him. Of course, now I can't help but to crack up laughing every time that I look at him! His new nickname is Bobblehead.....cause....well, that's what he looks like. I swear that we have a new dog in the back yard everytime I look at him......this short of a cut wasn't what I was looking for when I took him in honestly, but it is a great deal of entertainment! Doesn't he look A LOT like Lucky now? Tehehehe

Bobble, Bobble, Bobble

Lucky is still with us. He is just the best dog ever. Super quiet. Doesn't jump on you. Doesn't nose to get into the house or shop and will actually wait to be invited in rather than barrelling through you like our other two will do. We can't get him to eat enough though. I think he is just so timid that he is worried about eating the other dog's food or something. Of course it doesn't help that Benny is apparently being a little brat about that. We caught Benny scaring Lucky away from the food yesterday. Benny got a very stern lecture about inappropriate behavior and the value of sharing! Hopefully though, Lucky will be going to his new home sometime soon. A friend of my mom's said he wanted him, but had to clear it with his wife first. YAY for Lucky!

The pool is coming along. Way too slowly for me, but coming along just the same. Jeff has worked his tail off all week long to get it moving. Thankfully he only had to break up a few spots in the concrete to find the leak under the deck. He fixed the MASSIVE break in the pipe and he and Zoe spent a large part of the day yesterday filling the holes back in with dirt. Now, all that is left is laying new concrete in there. The pool is draining as I type this and of course, we will have to get in there and clean out the bottom of the pool by hand. ICK! Then, reset the liner and fill her back up again. With any luck at all, we won't have to do anything else to this pool before we finally move! We have decided though that we still want a pool when we move, we will just have it installed ourselves so that we know it was done right!

Kolby was trying to help them with the filling, but as soon as he knocked himself in the head with his little bitty shovel, he was done for the day. He is his mother's son. Notice the bandaid on the side of his face? Tehehehe

Here are the only two pretty parts of our backyard! Thank goodness for this little bit of saving grace....at least we have this for now right?

Monday night, we had a heck of a storm blow through Wichita Falls. Jeff and I stood at the back door of the house watching huge trees being blown down to fence level. The howling of the wind was incredibly intimidating even for those of us that have grown up in tornado alley. I kept waiting for a tornado or two to drop out of the sky into our back yard. Thankfully, we didn't receive a lot of damage, but our neighbors and family weren't nearly as lucky as we were!

Yesterday, I took the kids to see Spiderman 3. It was a good enough flick I suppose, but in my opinion, it was WAY too long for my taste. Of course, I'm not a huge Spiderman fan anyway. It was a tad bit too much on the romantic side too. That's all fine and dandy if that is the type of movie that you are going to see, but who expects that from Spiderman right? Last night, we declared a family game night. This actually isn't at all unusual for us. I bought this new game about a month ago that we have all fallen in love with! It's a ton of fun to play and really makes you think! The best part is that we can ALL play it and have fun! So, if you enjoy game nights with friends and or family, definitely check out Blokus!

Hopefully I will do better about keeping this updated for all of you.....SOOOO stay tuned....more to come w/i the next 24 hours or less! Tehehehe but for now, you may return to your regularly scheduled programs!
