Welcome to our crazy corner of the world! Since we have family that is spread across the country, we decided to set up this blog so that
those that we love and miss would have an even better glimpse into our daily lives.
Sit back and enjoy. Hopefully, you will enjoy the ride as much as we do!
Love, Jeff, Shelly, Zoe & Kolby

Well, I arrived home safe and ALMOST sound! I actually had an absolute blast with all of the girls. All in all, we had 17 girls ranging from ages 6 to 13. They were a great group of girls and it was great to get to go camping again. Even if the leader of the troop did insist on us having running water, real bathrooms and electricity at the site! That's not really camping to me, but it was close enough for now! Here's the drive there with the three girls riding with me. What the leader failed to mention to me was that they were giving me the sick and gasey one! *laughs*
Set up was MORE than interesting since the girls really didn't have a clue how to set up but with a little guidance, they did great!
Cooking was the order of business! Who would ever believe that Alexis actually knew how to work! Tehehehe
Fire is our friend! Muwahahaha....one of the best parts about this weekend was getting to spend so much time with one of my very best friends, Tammy. We always have sooo much fun together! I we SWEAR that the fire pit needed more fluid to burn properly. We were NOT just playing around. Tehehhee....Don't try this at home kids!
Horseplay and hiking were at the top of the girl's list of things to do as soon as possible. I don't think they were having much fun though. *grins*
Later that evening, we drove down to the amphitheater to watch Texas. The girls marched into the area following me with the cadence of "left, left, left, right left". It was highly amusing and the crowd just seemed to love it. *laughs hysterically* Once inside, they began dancing to the music that the live band was playing and then finally on to see the show. It really was an amazing show. Reminded me of just how much us Texans LOVE our home and just how proud of it we really are. Definitely worth seeing if you are near there!
Rise and shine girls! If the suns up, so are you! Time for YOU to cook breakfast. I don't think they were really ready for that though! Tehehehe
Here we are hiking up to this little bitty "cave". I swear, I didn't think we were going to get them all back down. Suddenly they were all VERY scared of going back down. I can't lie though, I was a little scared myself....but not because I am extremely terrified of heights or anything. No, no, I'm not at all!
After taking down camp and loading up the vehicles, we stopped on our way out at one of the overlooks. Such a beautiful site!
After stopping a million times during the ride home (now not only did I have all the girls with the gas, sick stomachs but bladder control issues as well!), we finally stopped for some food. McDonald's is a godsend when you are out numbered by a bunch of little ones!
All in all, it was a great trip. And getting to spend all of that time with my niece Alexis was super great! Thanks to the girls for allowing me to join in on all of their fun! Let's do it again soon!!!! It's sure good to get back home though.
