Sissy update
| Well, Sissy and I were up and on the road this morning at 7am. She did great the entire trip up here. We got terribly lost getting to the vets office. Mapquest directions for that were horrible. We were suppose to be there by 10 am...preferrably 9:30 and we didn't get there until 10:20 this morning. Thank goodness they were running really behind too! We got back into the examination room and Sissy was clearly distressed and concerned. She climbed into my lap refusing to get out. Then the vet came in and gave her a shot to sedate her so that they could more easily feel the tear that our vet at home had suggested was there. I asked for a prescription of that stuff. Sissy just had this, "HEY, whassup baby" kind of look going on and laid so calmly and quietly on the floor perfectly happy! Tehehehe The vet finally took her back to start prepping her for surgery. They expected at that time that they would actually begin the surgery around 2pm. So, I left to check into the hotel......getting lost for over an hour this time. I finally found the place and the clerk kept insisting that I had not paid for the room through Orbitz and that I needed to pay for it again. I ended up having to get Orbitz on the phone to set this guy straight! ARGH! Finally in the room.....which is basically a one bedroom apartment at Hawthorne Suites....at an extremely LOW rate, I felt as if it was such a waste for just me! The downer though was that while they advertised free high speed wireless internet, the signal is too weak to do anything online! Double ARGH! So, I took a short nap and then returned to the vets office to check on Sissy as I expected her to be in recovery about that time. No such luck. It seems that the vet's office went just as mad as my day had been going and she had just been taken back to the OR room. This was at 4:10 this afternoon. So, here I sit at IHOP down the road, eating dinner and catching up on emails while I have the chance. Waiting for the phone call to tell me that she is out of surgery. YAY!!!! That phone call came in just as I finished typing the last sentence. The back side of her ACL was torn and the meniscus as well. Both have been repaired and the surgery went super well. She is in recovery, but they suggested that I not come to see her until after 9pm as she will still be way out of it. I doubt seriously that I will wait that long. I'm dying to see her and let her know that she wasn't just abandoned there. Although, at this moment, she probably wouldn't even know who in the heck I am. If I can update this later tonight, I will certainly do so. Otherwise, I absolutely can not wait to get back home!! AND congratulations to Zoe for passing her TAKS with flying colors today! We are both so super proud of you darling! We knew you could do it! Now, figure out where you want your celebratory dinner! Hugs and kisses to everyone. |
