Whew!
| Well, it's been a LONG weekend and week already and it's only Monday! Kolby was sick all weekend and last night, he came and drug me out of my comfy bed where I was all warmly snuggled up with my amazing husband. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful he did come get me. His fever was at a whopping 104 and frankly he looked horrible. I was up the majority of the night holding Kolby tight on the couch hoping the Tylenol and Motrin would kick in and drop the fever down. Unfortunately, the fever didn't drop below 102.4 until about 6am his morning. Which just so happens to be the time that I needed to get dressed and head up to the school to serve snacks and refreshments to the teachers that were doing a blood screening. After volunteering at the school, I came home only to run right back out to get more medicine for Kolby. Then, off to the hospital we went. Poor Kolby's entire body is covered in an itchy rash. His stomach and throat hurt on top of the raging temperatures that he is suffering from. It seems that he has Scarlatina (scarlett fever...a form of strep throat). He's on high doses of antibiotics and should feel somewhat better on Thursday, but will still feel pretty poopy for 5-7 days. I told him that this was really going overboard just to get out of school for a week! Tehehehe. He didn't find that comment nearly as amusing as I did. I swear, there isn't much that is worse than watching your child suffer when ther is nothing that you can do for them. I just hope that we all don't come down with it now. It sure would be nice to have all of us healthy at the same time for a change! *laughs* Not much else going on around here. Besides Kolby being ill, we are all doing wonderfully. Although, we do have some disappointing news. It doesn't look like a trip to Oregon over Spring Break is going to happen. Jeff's office is already over it's limit of people being off at once by one person. Sooooo, he can't take that week off unless some of the guys get reassigned to a different office before then....which is being discussed apparently. While there is still a slim chance that we can make the trip, it isn't really very hopeful. That leaves us looking at making the haul the end of June after he gets back from Luke but before he leaves for Korea. We shall see. I think that is a long, hard trip to make in the short 3 weeks that he will be home and am not certain that he will be as up to it as he seems to think he will be. We'll keep you all updated though as we find out more information. And on that note, I'm going to go cuddle up with Kolby. I'll be updating again later today with pictures from Jeff and Zoe going ice skating yesterday with the squadron. Oh yes, and a most sttractive picture of Jeff working at Muffin with Mom! Muwahahaha. |
