WHEW!
| It's only Wednesday morning and already this week has been interesting to say the least! Monday was busy with meetings that morning. As always, I had CPS visitation for my CASA case. Tera was kind enough to hang out here with Kolby while I went to that! BUT....on the way to visitation, I get a phone call from Zoe who is in hysterics on the track field. Unfortunately, I was only catching about every 15 or so words with the wind howling through the phone lines. All I got out of the phone call was that she couldn't move her legs and that I needed to get there NOW! That was one of the longest drives of my life. Once I got there and saw that she was okay, I was fine. The coach thought that she probably pulled her quad muscles and recommended icing and wrapping them. When we got back to the house, Zoe went into hysterics again about not being able to get out of the car...it just hurt too bad. So, I told her to just stay in the car, if she hurt THAT bad then we needed to go ahead and get it checked out. Once the doctor saw her and told her that it was just cramps from not stretching well enough or not being hydrated well enough, she was horrified that she went to the doctor over THAT! Tehehehe. Yesterday was an insane day. Kolby had to go back to the dentist at 8:30 in the morning to have a spacer put in where they pulled the molar from a few weeks ago. Apparently, I misunderstood that they were giving me enough vallum to pre-medicate him for BOTH of these appointments. He didn't need it though, he did great. But we were there until 10:30. I took him to lunch at McDonald's. Our lunch conversation was fantastic! He randomly looked up at me while scarfing down the chicken nuggets asking if I knew what a paleontoligist was and then proceeded to inform me that they study dinosaurs and their bones! I laughed inside thinking that most adults don't know what that means...or the word itself much less and apparently the guys sitting next to us were most impressed as well judging by their immediate head turning and jaw dropping! Next came the discussion about Abraham Lincoln (one of Kolby's new favorite subjects). Kolby told me that he thought Lincoln was a really good president and it was too bad that he got shot! Muwaha. I'm going today to try to find him an age appropriate book on Lincoln so that he can learn even more! After lunch though, it was back to school....relunctantly on his part as he would have much rathered coming home and playing his games all day. After the kids all got home from school, I dropped them off at my mom's at 3:45 and ran up to the CPS office for visitation as it had been cancelled Monday and re-scheduled for yesterday. I stayed there until 4:50 then darted back to mom's to pick up the kids and get Kolby to martial arts. Little did I know....due to my lack of attention....that yesterday was belt testing day. He really wasn't ready to test for his yellow belt and as I watched him with the other 5 kiddos, I sank lower and lower feeling horrible that he was there. I was convinced that he would be the only one to not get his belt. He ended up getting his belt though, with lots of comments of "needs more practice" on his score sheet. Needless to say, he was ecstatic and kept exclaiming that he was one step closer to becoming an instructor! Tehehehe. Once his testing was over, it was time for Girl Scouts for Zoe. We were there from 6 until 7:30pm. On the way home, we stopped to pick up pizza and I was barely awake long enough to watch Big Brother. Today's drama has already started! Zoe called crying and asking me to please bring her track stuff to school. I questioned it as the doctor told her that she needed to take a couple of days off from running so that her muscles could work themselves back out. She bawled even harder that the coach posted those that were running in the meet and that the coach said that she didn't think Zoe could run track anymore and Zoe just HAD to prove to her that she could in fact run track still! I told her to calm down and asked her if she had spoken directly to the coach. I knew the answer already....it is Zoe after all. She told me that she hadn't, but EVERYONE was saying that is what the coach thought. *shakes head* Needless to say, I told her to go to the coach and talk to her and that if the coach was willing to let her run today and possibly put her in the meet that I would gladly bring her stuff to her. I also told her that the coach has enough experience and knowledge that she wouldn't believe for a second that cramping up one time equates to not being able to run track at all. Oh, the hell that will be paid today I'm sure. I do feel for her. She has been so excited about running track and has gotten even more excited to learn that she is one of the fastest ones on the team. So, I understand the heartbreak she is feeling right now, but I could certainly do with a little less of the dramatics! Tehehehe. Anywho, I think my goal for today will be to clean out the spare bedroom so that we can actually walk through it again without stepping over a million things. It always amazes me how that room seems to pile up so quickly. We shall see though. I could just sit here all day and watch the Big Brother live feeds and pretend like everything that needs to be done is already done! After all, I've already done the dishes and cleaned out the fish bowl. What more should I have to do? Tehehehe. Hugs and kisses to everyone! Over and out..... |
