Ever Feel Like.....
You are just battling one of those battles that are absolutely impossible to even coming close to winning? Do you ever question why you stick with doing something that drives you absolutely insane just because it is important to you/is a good cause? Am I the only one that does this?

I won't go into detail about what's making me crazy right now as there are people that come to this blog numerous times a week and I have no intention of calling anyone or any organization out in public. That just wouldn't be appropriate.

But I will say this.

1. If you are in over your head, get out.

2. If you are doing something as an ego boost or power kick, get out.

3. If you are incapable of being a productive leader, get out.

4. If you can't behave more appropriately than a 5 year old, get out.

5. If you can't ever concede that your idea isn't the best way to go, get out.

6. If you are an extremely poor loser when things don't go YOUR way, get out.

7. If you aren't willing to work towards the future of your organization, get out.

8. If your only concern is what people will say about you in particular, get out.

9. If you can't pull your head out of others asses long enough to do the right thing, get out.

10.If you can't follow rules better than a 2 year old, get out.

11.If you insist on formality as long as it is fair to YOU, get out.

12.If your volunteering is more important than a family members life or death situation, get out.

13.If you are willing to stunt your child's development in order to continue on your path, get out.

Bottom line, there is a reason that there are checks and balances in all companies, organizations, etc, etc. Deal with it....either pee or get off the pot already!

I am what most would describe as a full time volunteer. I love volunteering for causes/organizations that I feel are important. I volunteer at our children's school. I volunteer as a CASA. I volunteer for Meals on Wheels. I volunteer with my husband's squadron. It's not a power kick or morale boost for me. It's a lot of hard work and I've done it for well over a decade with countless organizations. I do it because it's important. I do it because I care about giving back to our community. I do it because I believe that you should lead by example and I want to instill these same values in our children. I do it because I know that with every action, we are building on not just the present, but more so the future.

I don't give a rats patutee if anyone even recognizes the fact that I do these things. I don't expect awards or recognition. What I do expect though is that people that I am volunteering along side at least have the intelligence to know & accept their limitations and have the decency to assure that they are not attempting to exceed those limitations; thus erasing any good that has been put into a project or group.

My rant for the day is over.........at least on this blog!
