Apparently Kaia thought it was time for a new hair style.
After realizing that Kaia had been way too quiet for way too long, Tera decided to go check on her where she was supposedly playing in Kolby's room. From the sunroom, I hear this loud scream. You know, the kind where you have just found a dead body. Yeah, that kind of scream.
I freak out and run to where the scream came from. I see Tera running back down the hallway. I stop her to ask her what is wrong and she is so freaked out that she can't even speak. I ask again what is wrong and now Tera is covering her mouth with both hands as she mutters tearfully, "she..........cut........her........hair!"
I look around the corner and immediately start laughing. Well, almost immediately. I did let out a bit of a gasp when I first saw just how much she had cut. Apparently, Zoe thought we were going to kill Kaia or something as she swooped into the bedroom scooping up every bit of hair that she could before running off to the trash can with it. I suppose that she thought if she got rid of the evidence, it might just save the child's life.
Tera picked up Kaia, brought her into the bathroom and made her look in the mirror at herself. Kaia's initial response was to cover her head with her hands and then started crying that she wanted her hair back. Tera just started fuming more and more. Me now in fear of Kaia's life, I yanked her up off the counter and ran off for scissors telling Tera that I would fix it....somehow.

Tera's thoughts on the matter!
It still looks pretty choppy, but it's a lot better than it was. And let's just say that I didn't have to cut more than 1/4" off anywhere except the very thin strip of hair in the front that Kaia hadn't yet got to!
