Kolby's 7th Birthday Party
We had Kolby's birthday party for his friends at Warrior's Way today. It all started off with the kiddos learning a little martial arts. They all thought this was so super cool! At one point, they were doing forward kicks and Sifu, instructed them to hold their hands up high and to kick it. When he asked if everyone could do it, everyone yelled "YES!!!". Everyone except Kaia that is, who yelled at the top of her lungs, "NOOOOOO!!!" Tehehehe.

After learning some basic moves, the kids all competed in the crawl race. They had to crawl, hop, whatever on both hands and feet across the mats, around the cones and back. This was freaking hilarious to watch!

And the games kept a going! After the races, it was time for a little dodge ball and what kid doesn't absolutely LOVE this game? Even the adults had to get in on this one!

You would think they would be done by now wouldn't you? Oh no. After kicking each other's butts in dodgeball, it was then time for the real fun! STICK FIGHTING! WAHOO!!!

While stick fighting, Kolby wasn't in the least worried about taking on his instructor, Sifu!

And then it was time to sing happy birthday and have some scrumptious cake! Haha, the academy thought Kolby was turning 8, so we had the big number 8 candle on the cake. They were so apologetic, but I just laughed and told them to leave it. We just said that we were practicing for the big deal of turning 8! Tehehehe.

Kolby got to cut his own cake too. This might have been his absolute favorite part of the entire party! He got to cut the entire cake for everyone, with a real samurai sword! WOW! This was so freaking awesome....as you can tell by the smile on his face!

Everyone enjoying the cake and juice. Of course, what kind of party would it be without a little cake on the floor, face and feet? Muwahahaha!

Then, on to the good stuff! All of the presents! Kolby's friends were all so awesome with their gift giving. He was so excited about all of it! And after opening all of them, he stood up on the chair to give a great big thank you to everyone!

And with all of this excitement, it still wasn't over! The kiddos gathered around to try to bust the pinata! We managed to find a giant karate guy that yelled out with things like "Hiyah!", "Ouch!" and "Good Hit!" every time he was hit! Needless to say, the pinata was a HUGE hit with both the kids and adults!

The fun just keeps on going though! It was time for a little duck duck goose and as with everything else, Sifu and his wife Crystal were right in the middle of everything!

And finally it was time to say farewell! So, we gathered everyone up for a couple of group shots. Can you believe how cute the one of them striking a "their best karate pose" is?!?!?!?! Kolby will take that one to school to give to everyone that came to the party.

And if you can believe it, the kiddos did ALL of this in an hour and a half! You know, I can't ever say enough wonderful things about Sifu and Crystal's martial arts academy. It truly is amazing, but this party just put it all over the top. For a fairly small fee, they provided the facility, cake, juices, tableware, headband and a free week of classes for all of the kids and I didn't have to lift a finger for anything! It was simply fantastic!
