Wow! What an amazing trip we all had visiting Jeff in Hawaii!
Our first day was spent at Pearl Harbor and on Waikiki Beach that night!

Friday the 13th is supposedly a bad day all the way around. Personally, I thought it was pretty spectacular! We drove up to the North Shore and visited Hale Iwa. We swam in the pipeline and with the sea turtles....literally! I've already laid the ground work that if we ever happen to get stationed at Hickam, that we will live there and Jeff will have to commute! Muwahaha.

After coming back from the North Shore, we visited the Hale Koa beach and had a little fun in the sand!

Then back down to Waikiki beach for dinner and a little shopping....or clowning around. However you want to look at it! As you can see by the first picture, Kolby led the way! Can you figure out which picture shows Kolby's new #1 girl? And who he had to fight off to keep her? Tehehehe

Saturday, we jumped up to head over to Hanauma Bay for a little snorkeling! Oh my gosh! What an absolutely amazing and perfect experience! I think I could have spent all day there and still not had taken in enough of it majestical offerings. Kolby wanted nothing to do with snorkeling. Zoe got way out there with me and then finally admitted that she was freaking out, not getting super excited like I thought and I had to literally drag her back to shore. Apparently the fish scared the pee out of her! We took some underwater pictures, but they are still being developed. Tomorrow night when I pick them up, I will add some for everyone!

After leaving the bay, we took the kids back to Waikiki Beach for some surfing lessons. Wow. I knew that it would take a lot of muscle work, but I had no idea how much that "a lot" really was! I managed to hang out there for about 20 minutes in the waves before I called it done. I knew that there was no way that I was going to make it for an hour. Everyone did really well though! Kolby was the super star and his picture is even going to be used for advertisements there! He totally rocked!

Shelly (falling) Muwahahaha...they said it was the most aecrobatic fall they had ever seen! Guess all that yoga is paying off!

And a group picture! If you are ever in Hawaii and want to take surf lessons, please, please look up Shrek on Waikiki Beach. He was Kolby's instructor and just plain rocked!

After all that surfing we were starving. So, we stopped to grab a bite to eat before hitting the hotel to clean up for the Paradise Cove Luau. Even after having already seen it, the show was still amazing. Mom and Zoe were both super impressed with the dudes!

Sunday we woke up and drove back to the North Shore to visit the Dole Plantation. The maze there is 3 acres big and was so much freaking fun! And we all came to the realization that pineapples don't actually grow on a tree! Not sure why any of had assumed that they had, but we did and were quite shocked to learn otherwise! Tehehehe. Of coures, I had to include a few shots of Zoe's artful photography!

After goofing around at the Dole Plantation, we drove up to Diamond Head. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), we got there too late to take the hike up and only got to check things from outside the gate. As exhausted as we all were, this probably wasn't a horrible thing after reading just how much walking/climbing that hike really is! Tehehehe. Next time we will squeeze it in though!

And then of course, back down to Waikiki Beach!

On Monday, it was time to pack it up and head back home. It was so incredibly sad to leave without Jeff, but we are on the down hill slide of this tour now! |
