Welcome to our crazy corner of the world! Since we have family that is spread across the country, we decided to set up this blog so that
those that we love and miss would have an even better glimpse into our daily lives.
Sit back and enjoy. Hopefully, you will enjoy the ride as much as we do!
Love, Jeff, Shelly, Zoe & Kolby

Today was the district track meet and Zoe was set to compete in the 100, 200, 400 and then finally the mile relay. After an hour long drive to get to Vernon, TX, I actually got lost in that little freaking town and literally missed the first race by seconds. *insert sad face here* The second race started off with a bang...literally! Then Zoe collapsed to the ground when her leg gave out right as the gun blew. That didn't stop her though. She sprung up from the ground and took off as fast as her legs would take her. She ended up placing third. She wasn't thrilled with what had happened, but she was thankful that she placed high enough for finals.
Unfortunately, I had an OSC function that I needed to attend and had to leave. I felt somewhat better about that since the weather was for crap and I got a phone call around noon to tell me that they were being hailed on and the meet was cancelled. Zoe had said they would go back on Friday to finish it off. What I found out later (too much later) was that the weather cleared up about an hour later and they finished the meet! *insert another sad face here* Zoe didn't do so well by the time the finals rolled around though. Apparently, she ran a few extra races to sub for someone that couldn't and that turned out to be just too much for her legs.
We have her in physical therapy now for that. As it turns out, she has some tissue thing going on with her feet that causes her to only walk on the insides of them. That coupled with her ankles leaning inward has irritated the tendons way too much and is causing them to stay inflamed. So, they are quite literally teaching her how to walk again!
Anywho, long story short, she didn't place in the finals and track season is officially at an end. For us anyway. Personally, I think this is a good thing. It means that she will be forced to give her legs the much needed break they have needed to heal and correct the situation!
