Remembering
I spent a few hours today watching the memorial service for Michael Jackson. The memories that it brought back were priceless. It took awhile, but I convinced Zoe that she should watch with me. You couldn't help but feel that you were witnessing history in the making and something on such a grand scale that you would never see anything of the sort again. I couldn't help but laugh as I told Zoe the stories of me and the neighbor kids (Rachel and Louis) memorizing the dance moves to songs like Thriller and Beat it. How I thought Michael Jackson was just the most fantastic person alive! And of course, how huge of an impact Michael Jackson had in so many different arenas of life as we know it. My favorite parts of the service were of course Brooke Shields who really made him much more human. Magic Johnson who made me laugh hysterically over the KFC story. And of course, Jermaine Jackson singing Smile, a song that I have always adored!
