Zoe Goes Home
Well, we left Tera's this morning before the break of dawn to start driving to Phoenix. We made it a couple of hours down the road and stopped at Clines Corner for a short break when we saw a sign showing the way to Roswell, NM. Zoe had been talking about wanting to go there since we left Wichita Falls. So, having learned "the way of travelling" from my mother, we turned left instead of heading straight on and started a whole new adventure! Roswell was WAY out of the way, but it was worth it to tease Zoe that we were going back to "her people". Muwahahaha. We ended up spending about an hour and a half going through the museum and walking through the downtown area. I must say, I found it fascinating, but I don't think that Zoe enjoyed it nearly as much as she thought she would!

After leaving Roswell, it seemed that moving further south and then heading back up north was the best way to go to get to Phoenix. Fortunately, this took us right through White Sands, NM. I've always wanted to go back to White Sands and even moreso wanted to take the kiddos there! Mom took me and my brother there when we were younger and I just thought it was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen! So, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. We didn't spend much time there. It was 118 degrees making it simply too hot to hang out too long, but we did get in some decent sand sledding time!

We finally stopped to sleep in Benson, approximately 40 minutes south of Tuscon. I was hoping to make it all the way to Tuscon, but I was just too tired. Tomorrow, we will make the rest of the drive into Phoenix and pick up dad from the airport! YAY!!!!
