The set-up, a couple of really great bags and more! The bags and cards were made by the local elementary schools art classes. They did such an amazing job!

Keeping the kiddos busy while we are working! Ryland is the cutest little booger ever! I keep telling Paula that I'm just going to run away with him! Tehehe.

The 2009 Annual Airman's Cookie Drive Committee has been working on organizing the cookie drive with JoAnn Morriss from the Sumter Volunteer's Group for months and finally all of that hard work has paid off! As you can see in the picture, we are quite ecstatic to have had such a huge success and to start preparing for next year!

The Sumter community is nothing short of amazing! They rally together and bake and bake and bake to "Shower Shaw with Cookies". And boy do they ever shower! This year, the Sumter community baked and donated 4,270 dozen! How many cookies is that? Not up to doing the math yourself? Well, I'll tell you. It's 51,240 cookies. That's right folks, over 50 thousand cookies were lovingly prepared for our servicemen here at Shaw! I can't tell you how truly phenomenal this community is. Never before have I seen this kind of community support and I am so incredibly proud to call Sumter home (even if it is just for a little while). With 400 dozen (4,800) cookies coming in from the Shaw community itself, our grand total was 56,040. HOLY SCHMOKES!!!!!

So, to you Sumter, a HUGE thank you! Your support and generosity are more appreciated than you will ever know. Thank you!

What an amazing experience! Can't wait for next year!
