Oh the Comradery
The excitement of the build up as the ads are searched and a game plan is formed by all.

The feeling of everyone piling up together trying to stay as warm as possible in freezing temperatures.

The way that families and friends pull together as one collective team.

The rush you feel as the clock leaves just moments to finish preparing.

The adrenaline that speeds through your body as you spring into action, bolting through the doors.

The realization that all of the people you spent the night with really aren't your buddies anymore.....rather your enemy.

The animalistic nature you feel as you shove the first one of those "buddies" out of your way as you fly to your first location and on to your second and third..sometimes fourth and fifth too.

The impulsiveness as you are dashing through the aisle's grabbing things that others are craving, just because you can and don't want to miss out on something

The overwhelming feel of victory as you reach the front of the store again to pay for everything that you were there to get, not just for you, but for everyone on your team.

The excitement of that phone call letting your team know that you got everything....or that the store completely pissed you off! ;)

The mad dash, trying to haul tons of packages back to your car.

The feeling of pleasure as you whiz out of the parking lot noting to yourself that there's more to come.

The culmination back at the designated location.

The intensity as you really see everything for the first time.

The delectation of your success.

How could you not love the sport of Black Friday Shopping.

Michael got to stay home and babysit all of the kids. Jeff opted to stay home too.....to babysit the dogs of course.

After much planning once we had finished Thanksgiving dinner, our strategy was in place and everyone had their tasks well laid out. Blake was positioned at Circuit City at 7:30 Thursday evening where they had the laptop and 50" T.V.'s that we wanted. Zoe was dropped at Target at 1:00am Friday morning where they had the more T.V.'s and such that we wanted. Mom was strategically placed at JcPenney at 2am where she could make the mad dash to meet Walter (who had been there since 1:00am)at Sear's. Kim was locked into line at Toys R Us by 2:00am. Shelley was holding down the fort at Best Buy. While I was in place (after dropping off hot chocolate to everyone) at Kohl's by 1:00am.

Kohl's opened at 4am yesterday morning. The lines were horrific. Thankfully, I was first in line though. As the clock ticked closer to time, I began to prepare myself. Hair pulled back in a bun so that it isn't pullable by anyone...check. Beanie removed cause it's Jeff's and he might not like me losing it and we all know that if it falls off, I'm not stopping for it...check. Shoes tied snuggly and double knotted...check. Layout planned and memorized....check. And then it was time....the doors finally opened! I dashed through the store getting all of the stuff that everyone had listed that they needed. As I whipped through aisle's, I asked every store clerk that I could find where the heated throws were. No one could tell me the correct location. Just as I was about to give up as I was two minutes into my shopping excursion there and time was really up already, someone else spotted them. I darted over to get some and in the excitement of it all, grabbed all but 3 that were on the shelf. "Screw it," I thought...I will sort it out at the register! While waiting in line to pay, I start stripping off my multi layers of clothing. I was sweating like a pig by then.

So, after I was done there, I had to rush over to Circuit City to meet up with Blake before they opened at 5am. When I got there, they informed me that they were not handing out voucher's like they have for the past few years for the big ticket items. It was solely first come, first serve. At first, I was a little peeved by this, but then I realized that they were FINALLY giving me my sport back! WAHOO! I was actually going to really get to fight all of the old women and giant men in front of me. Forget about those behind me, it wasn't as if they were going to manage to get ahead of me....not alive anyway! Circuit City is well known for their labors of trickery. I know this all too well though as this store is normally my first stop each year. So, as the seconds were counting down to the doors finally opening, I pushed my way forward. Once the doors were open, it was all fair game and I was throwing all of those old women, children and big, burly men aside as I made a bee line through the store screaming at the store clerks, "where are the 50"'s?" I'll never understand why they use expensive products to set the store up like a maze. Perhaps they hope that people won't go so nuts if they are worried about destroying things in their path? *note the sarcasm there* I paid no mind to the lady telling me to be careful as I sped through the maze trying to get to the television that we wanted. Can you believe that I beat out all of those people to be first to get the only TWO that they had? Muwahahaha.

By 5:30 am the shopping fun was over. Well, except for the fact that we had to wait in line for over 3 hours to get the laptop at Circuity City...but that is a whole different story.

Best Buy, Target, Sears, JcPenney, Kohl's, Toys R Us, Big Lots and Circuit City all accomplished. I swear, I have the best team ever! They all got absolutely everything we all wanted! What can I say? We rock the shizzle! Muwahahaha

Now, all that was left was gathering back at mom's house to go through everything and pay everyone back for the purchases that they picked up for us! And well, Jeff and I had to decide whether we wanted the 50" T.V. after all. See, Wednesday night, we agreed that it was an amazing deal for the t.v. and that we definitely wanted it. Then, we decided that we didn't really want to spend $800 right now. Then we decided that we did.....and you got it....we were all wishy washy. When I left to hit the stores, we were standing with no on the purchase. I'll freely admit though that the adrenaline and excitement got the best of me when I got to the register to pay for mom's t.v. and when she asked me how many I wanted I screamed, "give me two, give me two!" Returns can't be made until today, so that gave us plenty of time to decide for sure. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that we have decided anything. We really, really want it, but it is a big expense for something that we don't really NEED. Pfft...we have a few more hours before the rain and sleet set in! Tehehehe. We'll end up getting it and calling it my Christmas present! Muwahahhaha.

I learned something new too. That Donna has never been Black Friday shopping. So I have decided that she MUST be here for the next one so that I can initiate her properly! Muwahahahaha

My love to you all...I'm off to make more coffee and get ready to hibernate until this blasted cold weather disappears!

This is Shelly...signing off....already preparing for the next big Black Friday extravaganza!

Oh, and happy halloween to you too Bill!
