Quiet Morning
It's my usual 20 minutes or so of quiet time first thing in the morning. My coffee is made and Zoe, poor Zoe, is just getting out of the shower to get ready for school. I don't know why I feel bad that she has to get up so early to catch the bus every morning. I had to do it too, but I do feel bad for her. Of course, not bad enough to drive her to school everyday! Tehehehe.

We had a wonderful visit with Donna this past weekend. I wish that I could have been around more and had more time to visit with her though. She flew in Friday night and we sat up to visit for a little while. Then, from what I can gather she got to sit around and watch Jeff work on the pool and stuff on Saturday while I was in my CASA training. Tehehe. Sorry about that Donna! Saturday night, Pop's and Mitzi joined us at the Backdoor Theatre for a dinner show, Willie's Kitchen. That was really nice. And on Sunday, we subjected Donna to one of usual Sunday family dinners! AND she survived! *laughs* She brought both of the kids tie died shirts that were made by a "real hippy". I have to say that I am highly amused that Zoe is so very proud that it was made by a "real hippy"! She just can't stop talking about that. Then Monday, sadly...as we were all disappointed that it came so quickly, I had to take her back to the airport to fly out to Ohio to see her sister. We didn't take a lot of pictures this weekend, but the few we did take, I hope to upload later today so that I can post them. Hopefully she will come back to visit us again soon and this time twist Warren's arm just a bit to come along with her!

Jeff is working later hours again this week. And unfortunately, I'm volunteering at the school every morning to help with testing this week. So, we don't get those morning hours like we normally do. In turn this means that we don't really see each other much. With him getting home around 8pm each night, I'm just about ready for bed. I don't like these weeks much at all! And, as if this week is any different from any other, we are super busy. To top it off though, Jeff leaves Friday for Frisco for the pattern contest there. I won't get to leave with him since I have more CASA training on Saturday, but if all goes as planned, I am set to drive there after my training so that I can at least see Sunday's rounds and hang out with him on Saturday night. PLUS.......and I'm super excited about this part......three of our favorite people are coming in from Dallas to watch him fly on Sunday, so I will get to see them too! And it has been far too long since we have seen them! WAHOO!!!

Zoe went to her very first football game ever Monday night. She was ecstatic and came home talking about the game as if she knew all there was to know about football. I was highly amused and excited by her enthusiasm. Jeff, he was so very proud that she was learning about it and liked it so much. My only hope is that it doesn't mean that I am fighting off two people to keep football off of our TV screen every night now! *laughs* I suppose that I could ban both of them to the shop to watch the games huh? Hmmm, not a bad idea in reality.....then I would only have Kolby left to convert and I could have a completely empty house each night! Muwahahaha. Zoe is also super impressed with herself and learning so much at school. Particularly in Spanish. She has learned how to say our phone number........and everyone gets to hear it!

Kolby is having a great week in school. Everyday is a great day to Kolby though. I do so love that about him. How was school Kolby? GREEEAAAT! How was martial arts Kolby? GREEEAAAT! And so on. He came home enthusiastically proud that he got to be Mrs. Pearson's (his teacher) line leader on Monday. THEN, he got to wear his "official" uniform for martial arts class. Does it get any better than this?

The dogs are all doing well. Kind of. Lucky is about the same. I think he has lost even more weight and it looks like there is nothing more we can do for him. We have unofficially (with the vets help) diagnosed him with some sort of intestinal cancer and are officially just watching for him to have any signs of pain. Or, to just lose "too much" total weight. At that point, it will be time to say goodbye. I'm not sure how we will handle that, but at least we will all know that we gave him a good and happy home in the mean time. Sissy, well, she seems to be limping on both legs now and is not taking to rehab very well at all. She took a little fall apparently last Saturday. I'm not sure if that is what did it, but it is the only thing that makes sense to me. The vet will be making a visit to us at the end of this week for what was suppose to be just a weight check on Lucky, but will now consist of her checking Sissy as well. UGH. Poor Sissy. Benny, Ozzy and Smokey are all doing superbly though!

And to Pop's, congratulations on the new car! I can't wait to test drive it to see if I wanna trade in my car for a minivan finally! Muwahahaha. I've always been drawn to minivans, but never able to make myself get one. It just screams MOM. My dad told me once that a minivan is like a giant sign saying, no longer dating. So, I'm no longer dating and I am a mom, so why the hesitation still? Well, I'm just silly like that! Tehehehe.

On that note, it's time to go try to wake up Kolby and start the day. Donna, we hope that you are having an absolute blast visiting Ohio for the first time and please do send all of our love and hugs to everyone there. Sara and Eric, you are the last ones from to make this trip.....so, what's the date we can expect both of you? Tehehhee. Bill and Cheryl, any news on Christmas yet? We all have our fingers crossed! *grins* Dad and Pauline....Kolby fusses at me everyday that you haven't all come for a visit in so long. He wants to know when he will get to see both of you! Marsha, don't go too crazy with your new business. I'd help ya, but mom already told me how that is going! *laughs hysterically* And to everyone else, we love you all!

XOXOXOXO
