Kolby jumped into my arms this morning when I went in to wake him up for his first day of school exclaiming, "yay...it's MONDAY!" He flew out of my arms and off to do his daily chores of letting all of the dogs out! Tehehehe....I was super impressed that he even thought about it.

After eating a whopping pile of pancakes and spending plenty of time picking out just the perfect things to wear, they were both ready to leave for school!

So, off Jeff and Zoe went.

While Kolby and I began walking to his school. Obviously, I was in no kind of hurry, but I can't say the same for him! He kept leaving me in the dust!

GO BULLDOGS!!!! Kolby just had to get this picture!

We dropped off all of the classroom supplies and then the part that he was most excited about.......getting to put his backpack up in his very own locker. Kolby has told everyone about this locker. Usually it goes something like this.....I have my own locker and it's great. It doesn't have a door and a lock on it, but that's okay. Tehehehe

THEN, he got to his desk and found something that he has always wanted, but mom has NEVER allowed him to have!

PLAYDO!!!! Not that he had any concerns about starting school to begin with, but if there were to have been any inkling of uncertainty, this would have obliviated them!
School gets out at 3:00. Would you be surprised to hear that I was at the school at 2:45? I tried....I really, really did, but I couldn't wait any longer. I was too excited for him to come home. On the hot walk home, I asked him what he had learned. RECESS! What else did you learn? RECESS! That's it? YEP! It was great! I played at least 100 times! Muwahaha. Throughout the rest of the day and evening, he would randomly tell me, "mom I had a GREAT day!"
I'm not certain that he liked school at all.
What about you?
*smiles wildly*
Zoe seems to have already had a run in with the Mean Girls. If you haven't seen that movie, please do. It's highly entertaining and sadly realistic. Fortunately for her, they were fighting over who got to have lunch with her. Seems the Mean Girls won out! She found all of her classes fine. With the exception of walking into the boys gym rather than the girls. She swears that it was a complete and total accident but I'm not so sure! Tehehehe. She couldn't get her locker open at all. Those locks take practice but I'm sure that she will get it down just fine. AND she got off the bus on the way home at the WRONG stop which meant she had to walk a few minutes further. I'm sure she has that figured out now too! *laughs* She seemed to really enjoy her first day of school and is excited at the new adventure laid out before her.
She did bring home an art project. It was an abstract drawing that needed to be colored in with exactly four different colors. No more, no less. The trickier part of that was that none of the colors could touch themselves. Muwahahaha...this was right up my alley. So, before she started it, I made several copies of the picture and we all sat down at the kitchen table to color one of our own! It was really nice. I'll take pictures later to share with everyone!
Bdeep, Bdeep, Bdeep.....That's all for now folks! |
