We Made It
| Sissy and I both made it to OKC. And without getting lost at all this time! YAY! I dropped her off at the emergency clinic where she will be staying the night. Which means that I can actually go visit her later tonight since it is a 24 hour facility. We had a bit of drama after getting to the ER clinic though. The tech that brought us back to her room informed me that the doctor was going to be at least 30 minutes. So I could either wait for him or let the tech tell me the plan for the night. I told him that I was fine with him telling me. Antibiotics and IV fluids for the night. Okay, and what about tomorrow I asked. He didn't have a clue. That was up to Dr. Streeter at the clinic next door. No worries, I'll go over there and ask her then. Dr. Streeter had just come out to sit down with me and explain everything when she was called back for an emergency. Apparently a dog was crashing on the table during surgery. A young lady came out and told me that it would be awhile but that if I wanted, Dr. Diaz from next door could fill me in. I told her that Dr. Diaz didn't know what was going to happen tomorrow and his tech informed me that I needed to talk to Dr. Streeter. The young lady told me that she would ask Dr. Streeter for the details and then come fill me in if she could. Just a moment later, the receptionist came and told me that Dr. Diaz was ready to speak with me. I explained to her as I had explained to the first young lady and the receptionist told me that Dr. Diaz had been informed and was able to explain everything to me. So, back to next door I went. Dr. Diaz came into the room appearing to be highly aggitated. I won't go into everything, but basically he had been told that I didn't have time to wait and speak to him, that I already knew everything that was going on and had gotten his butt chewed out by Dr. Streeter. Dr. Diaz ended up calming down once I told him what had actually happened and was in a MUCH better mood by the time that I left. Although, I am rather concerned by the fact that Dr. Diaz seems to be under the impression that Sissy is likely scheduled for surgery of some sort tomorrow. He assured me that he would inform Dr. Streeter that I didn't have a clue what was going on and that I would really, really appreciate her phoning me to clue me in. On the upside, I'm in a nice hotel with excellent wireless service! YAY! AND it is a lot closer to the clinic than the hotel I stayed at the last time that we were here. Oh, and I didn't have to phone Orbitz to clear up the fact that I had in fact paid for the room already! Tehehehe. Super bonus! Anywho, I'm off to find me some dinner, probably swing by Starbucks and then back to the hotel to hang for a bit before I go visit Sissy. I'll be stopping by the clinic that she is at tonight around 10pm and will post an update on her when I get back to the hotel. Jeff darling, I love you and miss you terribly! Give the kids a big hug and kiss for me and make them both give you one from me too! |
And the hits just keep on coming
| The vet came by to check on Sissy today. Free of charge thank goodness. She switched her antibiotics and called the OKC clinic that did the surgery. Obviously, since Sissy hasn't eaten in 5 days, we are all very concerned. At this point, she is getting into the "starving herself to death" stage and that is no good. As if I needed to state that right? So, what now you ask? Well, due to all of the flooding here locally, all of the animal hospitals are over filled with animals and there is no room for Sissy. Now, I get to leave here shortly to take Sissy back to OKC for hospitalization. YAY! NOT! We are hoping that they will only have to keep her for 24 hours, but that means me driving her the over 100 miles each way and getting a room there for at least one night. Jeff and I are trying desperately to keep our heads up and keep looking for all of the wonderfully amazing things that we have in our lives. What else can we do at this point? And despite all of this, we are still extremely fortunate. We are more than ready for all of this to finally end though and our luck to turn around. I'll be bringing my laptop and such and hopefully will update her status this evening once I get her there and settled in. Wish us all luck please and send all of the positive energy that you have. I'm off now to pack a bag, load up the 6 kids we had staying the night last night, take them home, come back and head off to OKC with Sissy. |
Muwahahaha
