WHOAH!!!
| Wow, I've sat here for about 3 hours now, updating this blog. My apologies to everyone that it went so long without an update. Things here have been a tad bit busy as you can see.....that is if you have taken the time to quite literally scroll all the way down the page. Tehehehe. I actually had to go into the blog settings to increase the number of entries that appeared on the front page so that you all didn't have to go digging to catch up on everything. Things here are going beautifully. As most of you know already, my mammogram and ultrasound all showed nothing...so we aren't worried about the lumps anymore and rather are just watching to make sure that they don't grow or make changes. And for those of you that have heard about the horrific pain I experienced during my yearly, we have spoken to the doctor after he received the ultrasound results of my abdomen and it would appear that the culprit is my uterus....apparently, my abnoxiously large uterus. So, I am going in next Friday for another exam and discussing the options with the doctor at that point. It seems as though a hysterectomy might be the order of the day though. While that isn't something I really want to have done, I think we are all okay with it if that's what is needed. We're keeping our fingers crossed for other options though. We can't believe that Christmas is almost here. After this week, Jeff and the kid's only have one more week of work and school and then we are officially on Christmas break. We are super ready though......despite the terribly cold weather! Yes, yes, winter seems to have finally settled in once and for all. I am thankful for one thing about that though. We are no longer having to alternate between the air conditioner and the heater throughout the day! YAY! We do so wish that everyone in Oregon could be here with us for the holidays though....you are all missed very much by all of us! Jeff went in for his briefing on leaving for Korea the other day. His dates to leave are set between July 1st - 9th sometime. I'm guessing in the middle of that time span as he has to report by the 10th in Korea. So, he will leave to report to Luke on April 28th, be there for almost 2 months and then come home for just shy of a month before leaving for Korea. I'm thinking of trying to get everyone here during his last stint home for a blow out bash before he leaves. I think that would be just grand! We had a really great time out last night. We met up with mom at Backdoor Theatre to see the "The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of A Christmas Carol". Wow, forget saying that ten times fast....just try saying it at all! Tehehehe. As always, the Backdoor put on a marvelous show and the food was truly great. We were surprised by seeing uncle Joe and uncle Adam there as well! YAY us! If you are local, please do stop by to see this show and support the theatre......I promise you won't be disappointed! Tonight we are all bunkering in for a family movie night. Even though Jeff kind of ruined it for me by letting me watch what is apparently the most crucial scene of all of the Star Wars movies, I have finally given in and admitted that perhaps I was wrong to shun the series without giving it a chance. So far, we have seen the first three movies and tonight we are hoping to fit in the next two, but definitely one! YAY! I can't wait. I must admit that I have become a bit engrossed with the entire series. Of course, Jeff couldn't be happier about this since we all know what a HUGE Star Wars fan he is! Tehehehe. Tomorrow night is the squadron's Christmas party at the country club. Jeff is super excited about going this year. I'm kind of so so with it. But I did get to go out shopping yesterday for a new dress and found an absolutely stunning gown, new shoes, a wrap and a new clutch to match. Needless to say, I'm set to be the belle of the ball! Tehehehe. I freely admit that this is my one "stuck up down fall"....and I do mean ONE because I'm otherwise perfect. *winks* Can't wait to get some pictures to share with everyone! The kids are all doing well in school. Well, with the exception of Kolby not being able to keep his mouth closed. Sounds all too familiar and I can't really be too terribly upset seeing as how he comes by it honestly.....it's just in his genes. Thankfully though, we seem to be back on the "green day" track rather than coming home with constant yellow's like we were most of last week! YAY! I so hate him being grounded. Maybe if he would mope around about it, it wouldn't bother me so much, but he is so good about it and doesn't give us any grief that I feel guilty! Silly me eh? Tehehehe Oh yes, and we learned a very valuable lesson ($70 value to be exact) thanks to Zoe....giving a teenager the credit card to buy a couple of books at the bookstore is NEVER a good idea (but really...how do you get upset over her buying books?)....and lesson number two from that....always have a little extra cash in your wallet! And last but not least....know anyone that has ever gotten a cell phone bill with well over $200 worth of text messaging charges from one single phone number? Well, now you know someone....thanks to Zoe! Muwahahaha. Thank goodness we added that unlimited text messaging for her a few weeks ago. |
12-12-07 Productive Day
Tera and I have been busy, busy all day long making all sorts of little treats for the good....and not so good....little boys and girls in the kid's classes! Tehehehe! We made around 50 trains out of various candies.    We also made around 50 bags of snowman poop.  Then, we got creative and made 15 or so bi-planes for the guys at Jeff's work and Tera's husband.    Oh, and we sooo can't forget the delicious chocolate covered marshmallows that we made for the teachers and office staff at the elementary school!  We had so much fun working on these all day long and can't wait to see all of the kiddo's faces! Hope they like them as much as we liked making them! Tera.....YOU ROCK!!!!!!  For Jeff's office, we are giving everyone a bottle of the fighter pilot tradition, Jeremiah Weed (gross, nasty, gag me!) with a candy airplane glued on top of the lid and two edible candy cane shot glasses dangling from the bottles. Here's a picture of that project almost completed!  And then a few random shots of some of our decorations and the tree. Do take note of all the blue packages under our tree. Those are gifts for all of you, that Kolby shopped for and picked out all by himself at the school's holiday store. I haven't a clue what any of it is, but he is so super excited to send them all out to you!!!!!      Can't forget to show everyone our stockings too! Tehehehe....anyone care to guess which one is Jeff's and who wants one just like it?  Oh my goodness....I almost forgot to tell you all about the contract that Jeff made Zoe write up in exchange for a ride he supplied to both her and Sarah. As everyone knows, we lovingly refer to Zoe as "the nice Zoe" or "the mean Zoe". As any other teenager is, Zoe is a bit on the hormonal side and sometimes isn't very pleasant to be around. Jeff has amazingly found a way to avoid "mean Zoe" altogether! WAHOO Jeff! He so rocks. Ever since she wrote this out, we haven't seen "mean Zoe" again! It's sooo flipping wonderful! I sooo love my family!!!! Tehehehehe.  |
12-8-07 Christmas Tree Shopping
We decided that this year, we were going to go out and check out the Christmas tree farm. I say that we are going to do it every year, but just never actually did it! The kids had a blast running through the growing trees trying to pick out the one that was just perfect for our famiy. We all found one and agreed on it for quite some time before realizing that it was already taken! Dagnabbit! Kolby then picked out one. It was a bit of a Charlie Brown tree we thought and everyone vetoed his choice.    Needless to say, that didn't go over so well. Poor, poor Charlie Brown!  Finally, after about an hour out in the freezing cold, we found the tree that couldn't have been more perfect!   Unfortunately, we didn't think about bringing the saw to cut the tree down though. *insert disappointed face here* So, we had to depend on the kindness of the gentleman running the farm to cut it down for us....we shall know better next year.    Jeff still got his kicks in though! Take that tree.....muwahahahaha! What? Does this equate to checking out a car by kicking the tires? :)  Upon getting the tree home,  we realized that this monster of a tree was only about TWO feet too tall to fit in our living room, so Jeff got to do some major cutting on the tree anyway! *laughs* He cut it down enough so that it just barely had enough room for the absolutely smallest tree topper we had to be able to adorn the top. Really, that was just luck though....he hadn't really thought that far in advance! Tehehehe.     While the kids helped Jeff, I started dinner preparations as we all sang along to the Christmas music that filled our home! 12-6-07 A Day in the Life of Zoe
Well, apparently today was a MUCH better day for Zoe at school than yesterday was! Tehehehehe. I'm not really sure when LEARNING anything took place, but I suppose it looks like they were at least having fun! Tehehehehe.   Who knew bathrooms could be so much fun?!?!?!?!    And here is the infamous Coach Redding...the keyboarding teacher....that we seem to hear so much about from all of the girls.  I'm certain that absolutely NO ONE has even the slightest of crushes!  Personally, I think that these two are the most perfectly appropriate of these girls!   |
12-5-07 What got up my butt?
| Wow. So, Zoe was having a pretty tough week as she and Joseph broke up. She thought she was doing okay with everything, but apparently today at school was just too much for her and she called asking if she could come home. Of course I drove straight to the school to get her and figured that a little "girlie" time was in order. So....off to the mall we went to get our hair trimmed. Well, her 1.5 inches really classifies as a "trim". My closer to a foot marking, really isn't much of a trim, but rather a butchering! Muwahahaha...I have no idea what made me do it, but I sure do love it!!!  Zoe flipped out in the salon when she got done with her cut and walked over to where I was sitting. Hehehehe. She yelled, "STOP!!!! JEFF IS GOING TO KILL YOU!!! HE LOVES YOUR HAIR!!!!" Thankfully, although terribly shocked, Jeff loved it too though! He went on a picture taking quest to capture my new look! Tehehehee    Of course, we had to throw in a couple of cute ones of Ozzy and Smokey too!   |
