And He's Off
| Jeff drove out of town this morning San Antonio bound at around 10am. He woke up extra early this morning so that he had a little time with Zoe before she caught the bus to school. She didn't feel like she could handle being here when he left, it would just be too sad she said. It was this morning too. I'm pretty sure that she bawled her eyes out all the way to the bus stop, but asked that he not drive her there because she needed to find a way to stop crying somehow. Kolby, I think is just in denial. His behavior hasn't been superb...nothing terrible mind you...but less than normal and he has talked to me several times about not wanting his dad to leave. For him it was just easier to pretend it wasn't so I think. Jeff's not real sure about being a student again. Particularly after being an instructor for so long now! *laughs* I know though that he will do amazingly well. It's just his nature. It's a wierd silence in the house today that I don't like much at all and Tera is more than giving me my "space" so that I can just deal with his departure however I need to. She's a pretty smart cookie! Jeff baby, we love and miss you terribly after all! |
Last Night
| Tonight is Jeff's last night here. So, we took him out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Which really is a treat for everyone since we all LOVE that place! While we were there, Jeff took Kolby to the restroom and I took that opportunity to work up a plan with our wonderful server. After we were done eating our dinner, the screaming from the back of the joint started by all of the servers and what do you know, there goes Jeff screaming along with them as he watched to see who they were off to embarrass and sing to! Muwahahaha. I wish that we had the camera to get the expression on his face when they stopped with the saddle at our table and told him to climb on up! They then announced that he is in the Air Force and is leaving tomorrow to defend the skies in Korea for 14 months while everyone appauded him! It was really, really cool. What can I say? I'm still good at surprising him! Tehehehehe. He's just thankful that he managed to somehow make it through that without getting any evidence in pictures! |
